Introducing David Foley and Tandy Johnson

Over the past fortnight we have been so fortunate to have so many members of our community donate their time, labour and sponsorship to support our school to celebrate our 100th Birthday.

We had a wonderful turnout at our pre birthday working bee.  It was abuzz with families beautifying our school. There were groups mulching garden beds and others topping up the playground mulch. Many were on painting duty making the atrium look fresh with our terracotta pots receiving a burst of colour in paint and bursts of colour in the pots with new plantings. The OSHC pots were also topped up with colour. Paths were swept, leaf litter was cleared and drains unblocked. The gifts from the pigeons were pressure washed away and everyone enjoyed catching up over a sausage sizzle as well as a Zooper Dooper if you measured under 5ft! Your efforts were appreciated and made a huge difference. Darren is especially grateful and appreciates your support too! Thank you to the Seth Ferwerda for organising this event and to Elsa for capturing the mood with her camera!

Thank you to the families who were at school the day before our celebration day to help organise our memorabilia exhibition. This was a huge job, but it was made easier with the help of those who supported us to get the job done. The feedback from visitors attending was one of gratitude and appreciation that we had put together such a comprehensive showcase and your efforts directly contributed to this display, so thank you to you!

On our birthday celebration day many families generously provided food for our morning tea whilst others served tea, coffee and friendly smiles to our visitors. Thank you for making the morning tea a huge success. Thank you to Jade Mannix for your beautiful birthday cake celebrating our huge milestone. Thank you to those for the preparation beforehand and to those who stayed back and helped us clean up.

Thank you to the PFA and helpers that made the day special for our students by offering a special lunch. This always takes a lot or organising and labour. The students appreciate this fun event very much. The lunch contained a commemorative cookie that Tiffany Kent hand made. There were a lot of cookies to make, and they looked beautiful! Thank you to Kim Benwell for leading this team.

Thank you to the PFA for organising 100th Birthday wristbands available on the day as well as all the other merchandise that is available for families to purchase to commemorate our special year. See their newsletter item for details on how to order items.

Thank you to Jenny and Vaughn Mitchell for leading the group of parents who organised the Trivia Night. It was as huge success with lots of laughs and surprise talents emerging! A huge shout out to our major sponsor, RW Electrical, for their significant donation. Your sponsorship made this night great! Thank you to all of our generous donations from:

Polly Collective, Dan the Touch Up Man, Quest Facilities Maintenance, Master Sharp, Bunnings, East Hill Estate, Mojo Fashion, Pod & Seed, Misha Carpet Cleaning, Clae Space, NKM Hair, My Pantry Door, DC Love, Nillumbik Cellars & The Vines, Kuzina, T Cooper& Associates, Little Black Pig, Bar Alba, Centonove, station Meats, Sushi Wushi, and Volume Bloom.

Thank you to our wonderful staff who planned engaging and fun activities for our students to participate in on our birthday party day. The students loved them and appreciated your efforts in planning 100th birthday experiences for them.

Thank you to the families that supported our Athletics Carnival on Tuesday. An event like this can’t run successfully without the support of parent helpers. We are once again grateful for the turnout to make this a successful event!

Finally, a big thank you to all of the families who came on the day to join us for our whole school assembly to celebrate as a community. Your attendance was appreciated and made the morning a great success!

HAPPY 100TH BIRTHDAY ENPS!
