Principal Report
Welcome back to another school newsletter. It has been a busy couple of weeks!
Many staff and students have been absent due to illness. We would like to remind families to please keep your student at home if they are feeling unwell or have any cold or flu-like symptoms. If a student becomes unwell at school, we will call you to collect them. We ask parents/carers to please answer any calls from the school. Your cooperation is essential to maintain a healthy environment for everyone.
Our school has been successful in representing us at various sporting events. Keep an eye out for more information in this and future newsletters. Recently, several students traveled to Sydney to compete in the State Swimming Carnival. Unfortunately, due to a fire at the Sydney Aquatic Center, the relays were cancelled, and our students were unable to compete. We are extremely proud of how our students handled the situation. Despite being separated from their parents during the evacuation, they conducted themselves with maturity.
Additionally, there's been a rise in students representing our school at various sporting events while wearing inappropriate footwear. It's crucial for representing students to adhere to the full school uniform policy, including proper footwear. Crocs/slides/thongs are not considered appropriate footwear and wearing them violates the Department's WHS policy.
Reminder: We have sent out notes to families who have not yet completed the Extra Curricular Permission form. To ensure that students are eligible to participate in any extracurricular activities, this form needs to be signed by both the parent and the student. Without a signed form, students may not be able to represent the school in these activities.
We would like to inform you about the voluntary contributions attached to your account. We apologise for any confusion caused by the term "fee" being used; it should be noted that this is a voluntary contribution.
These contributions are used to assist the school in purchasing resources that enhance our educational programs. Your support is greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your understanding.
Please contact the school if you have any questions or concerns.
