Year 12 Legal Studies Supreme Court Excursion

On Wednesday May 1st, the Unit Three and Four Legal Studies classes had the privilege of visiting the Supreme court.

As well as receiving an extensive tour and being able to sit in one of the main courtrooms (The Banco Court), we were also lucky enough to have the opportunity to meet Justice Michelle Quigley, whose expert knowledge in the field of administrative law was extremely interesting. Being able to ask questions in relation to this was great as it helped give meaning to what we have been learning in class.

To finish the day, we were also permitted to sit in on a hearing dealing with a bail application that was taking place. Being able to witness court proceedings first hand was an invaluable experience! Overall, it was such a rewarding and inspiring experience to see justice in action and assist in our studies.
