Dear Parents and Friends,
Please note that our annual Book Fair Parade will take place tomorrow at 9:15am in the hall. Students are encouraged to come to school dressed as their favourite book character. There is no need to purchase a costume. Ask your child to get creative at home. All welcome to attend.
This week students had the opportunity to purchase a book from the Scholastic Book Fair. The purpose of the Book Fair was to promote reading. Our schoool also earnt nearly $500 worth of credit with Scholastic which will be used to purchase texts for the students. Thanks to all the parents and Tracey for assisting with running the Book Fair this year.
Our Parents' Association are hosting a movie night for students on Friday 21 June at 6pm. Further details will be shared soon.
Last week, many students from Years Prep - Year 2, took up the opportunity of a free dental check up. This was provided by Link Health and Community and included a check up and parent report. Students also learnt about oral hygiene and how to best brush their teeth.
Last Friday students in Year 4 took part in a Secondary School Experience Day. The girls attended Avila College in Mt Waverley and the boys visited Salesian college in Chadstone.
The day is designed to demystify secondary school, assist with transition and build community connections. Students participated in a number of activities including science,
On Tuesday night the School Advisory Council met for their third meeting this year. The meeting included a School Finance Report from our school Business Manager, Deshika Premaratna. The Council also discussed the plans and funding for updating the senior adventure playground. We are hoping this will be completed this year. The students in Years 3 to 6 were recently surveyed about what elements of a playground they wanted. A draft of the plan is attached below. Further updates will be shared soon.
If you have any concerns about your child's learning or wellbeing, please see their teacher or myself.
