St Patrick's Before & After School Care

This week at after school care children engaged in a sensory play activity using shaving foam. They were very happy and had lots of fun exploring the texture. Many children enjoyed spreading the foam on their hands, making patterns and squishing it between their fingers. The activity encourages creativity and sensory exploration, and it was wonderful to see the children so engaged. It also supported their fine motor development as they manipulated the foam in different ways.

Last week we had an incursion - animals on the MOOVE, the children participated in milking a cow, whisking it into cream and turning it into butter. This was a great hands on experience. We used two methods to make the butter, churning the old fashioned way and using a shaking method in a protein bottle.  The buzz of excitement is when it came to tasting the fresh butter.
