Celebrating Eucharist

Congratulations to all the children who received the Sacrament of Eucharist on the weekend. The children were amazing throughout the whole celebration. Well done to all as they continue through their faith journey.

Thank You

On behalf of our school community, we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Father Brendan Reed for our beautiful Eucharistic Mass. It was a deeply meaningful liturgy that brought our community together in faith and reflection.

We also extend our heartfelt thanks to all the parents who assisted throughout the celebration. Your support and presence helped make the liturgy a truly special and reverent occasion.

Choir:

Thank you to Abby, Poppy, and Annie for contributing to our singing over the weekend. Their dedication and commitment is truly appreciated. Well done, girls.

Eucharist workshop:

Thank you to all the Year Four families who attended the online Eucharist workshop facilitated by Maria Forde last Thursday evening.  It was great to see so many families engaging with their children and reflecting on the importance of the Sacrament of Eucharist.

Retreat Day

Last Friday, our Eucharist candidates participated in a special retreat day in preparation for receiving the Sacrament of the Eucharist. The day began with the children creating their own chalices and engaging with the whole school scripture focus, The Road to Emmaus. They reflected deeply on the story and made meaningful connections as they prepared for this important step in their faith journey.

The retreat continued with rich discussions exploring key questions:

  • Why is the Eucharist an important Sacrament?
  • What is the meaning of the Eucharist?
  • Why do we use a chalice and host during the Eucharist?
  • Why is this a special day for you?

These conversations encouraged the children to deepen their understanding of the significance of the Sacrament.

Throughout the day, students were invited to document their wonderings and reflections about the Eucharist. The retreat provided a quiet, reflective space away from the regular school routine, allowing the children to focus on God, their faith, and the significance of this sacred moment.

This is a special time of reflection, and spiritual growth, shared with peers just before they received the Sacrament of the Eucharist.
