A Prayer to Mary, Mother of God
For the Month of May
Dear Mary, our loving Mother,
During this special month of May, we remember how much you love and care for us. Thank you for being a gentle and kind mother to Jesus and to all of us.
Please help us to follow your example by being loving, patient, and helpful to others each day. Guide us to make good choices and to trust in God, just as you did.
Watch over our families, friends, and our school community.
Keep us safe and close to your Son, Jesus.
Mary, our Mother, pray for us and help us to grow in faith, hope, and love.
AMEN
Dear Parents and Carers,
On Saturday evening, our Year 4 children received their First Holy Communion, a very sacred and memorable milestone in their faith journey. The celebration was both beautiful and reverent. I am sincerely grateful to all the parents and families who supported their children on this special occasion.
Special thank you to Annette, our dedicated Religious Education Leader, for her guidance and preparation in the lead up to this important day. I would also like to thank Fr Brendan Reed for celebrating the Mass with such warmth and reverence.
I am very appreciative to all the staff who attended and supported the children. Your care and commitment truly reflects the spirit of our school community.
I hope all the children enjoyed a joyful and memorable celebration with their families afterwards.
I would like to remind all families that the school gates open at 8:30am. Children should not arrive before this time. We have observed a number of students arriving 15–20 minutes early, often riding their bikes or playing in the streets without supervision. To ensure the safety of all students, any child arriving before 8:30am must be accompanied by a parent or carer.
As a reminder, you can register for Before School Care with THEIRCARE to ensure your child is supervised safely before the gates open.
Additionally, the Benny Lane gate will now remain closed in the morning, children can enter via Hawthorn Street and Saunders Street gate. This allows staff to clearly monitor children in Benny Lane and help ensure their safety.
Thank you for your continued support in helping us provide a safe and well supervised environment for all students.
At St Fidelis, the safety and wellbeing of our students is our highest priority. We would like to reassure our families that all staff continue to meet their mandatory safety obligations, including up to date training in CPR, First Aid, and Emergency Management Procedures.
Over the past two weeks, this training has been a key focus during our staff meetings, ensuring that all team members are well-prepared to respond calmly and effectively in any emergency situation. This proactive approach helps us maintain a safe and secure environment for every child in our care. I thank my staff for their ongoing commitment to student care and safety, and I thank our families for their continued trust and support.
We also wish all our Year 5/6 students a fun, safe, and memorable time at camp this week. May it be filled with laughter, new friendships, and exciting adventures.
Have a lovely week,
Manuela
