Food in Jesus' Time

The Middles have been inquiring into what life was like in Jesus' time. We had lots of questions like:

• Did Jesus like carrots? Did he like broccoli?
• What meat did they eat? Lamb, fish, kangaroo or steak?
• What type of fruit and  veggies did they eat?
• Did they have sweets like chocolate, lollies and other sweets?
• What else did they drink besides wine?
• How did they get water? Did they have taps?
• How did they get their food? Where did it come from? Did they have shops?
• Where did their bread come from? How much would it have cost?
• What was Jesus’ favourite food?
• Did they have plates and knives and forks and pots and pans? Did they cook? How did they cook?
• Did they have to kill their own animals to eat the meat? 

• If Jesus was God did he need to eat and drink?

   

  ...today we found out a bit more about 1st Century foods...by eating them (or at least our modern version of them!)
