Year 2

Static Electricity Fun!
In Science this term, Year 2 have been learning all about Static Electricity. Did you know that Static Electricity is a buildup of electric charge on an object, like a balloon or your hair, that happens when you rub it against something else? It's caused by tiny particles called electrons moving from one object to another. Within our Science lessons, we have been completing experiments using Static Electricity. This week, we had an aluminium can race where we created static electricity on a balloon to make an aluminium can move. Lots of teams used their hair to create the static electricity whilst others rubbed their balloons against their woollen jumpers or the carpet. We had a great deal of fun making our aluminium cans move without touching them! Here are some photos of our races!
