Class 4 News

BRITTANY DIAZ

Class 4 continues to inspire with their creativity, curiosity, and  enthusiasm.  We have enjoyed learning about part of the history of our town with a visit to the Hartley Street School and the gaol.  When the students heard about how teachers used to throw dusters at students for misbehaviour and getting caned in front of the school at assembly for going to the pictures the night before, I think they came away with a new appreciation for school today!

We have returned to the garden where the students were able to help set the chickens up in their new coop, continue with the maintenance of the garden and the planting/weeding.  It is incredible to see how the students can settle quickly back into the rhythm of caring for this space and the connection to nature and humanity that develops from spending the time in the dirt is invaluable.

Have a peaceful and soul-filling weekend!

Blessings,

Brittany
