Yarra Road Primary School 100 Year Celebration Sponsorship
To celebrate this milestone we are having a community celebration on the 12th and 13th of September. We are currently inviting expressions of interest for event sponsorship.
By partnering with us, your business will gain visibility among our students, families, and the wider community, demonstrating your commitment to local development and educational excellence. If you know a business that may be interested in sponsoring the event, please feel free to share this brochure with them.
If a sponsorship is not feasible at this time, we would be grateful for any donations of products or services to support our silent auction. Contributions of this nature are invaluable in enhancing the event experience and fostering a sense of community involvement.
Please use the QR code to register an expression of interest (more information will be provided to the interested businesses).

Strengthening Leadership and Learning at Yarra Road Primary
I am pleased to share some exciting developments within our school leadership and teaching teams, aimed at enhancing our educational programs and providing new opportunities for both staff and students.
Rhiana Macrae will be stepping into the role of Acting Assistant Principal every Monday. Rhiana, will contribute to the overall management of the school, including whole school curriculum and data assessment. To ensure continuity in the classroom, Alycia Legge (current 3/4 teacher) will be teaching 3/4B on Mondays.
Additionally, Narelle Cooper will be working as our Acting Learning Specialist every Wednesday, focusing on supporting staff development, School Wide Positive Behaviour Support, and Student Voice and Agency. During this time, Ashleigh Smith (current Yarra road teacher) will be teaching Prep A on Wednesdays.
These staff will be working to strengthen our leadership capacity and enrich the learning experiences of our students. Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the office.
The Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA) recently published its revised Mathematics curriculum (Mathematics 2.0), which we, at Yarra Road, have implemented this year. This has resulted in changes to student reporting for Mathematics in Victorian government schools from Semester 1 2025.
On our previous student reports, teachers reported against 3 strands of the achievement standard for Mathematics: Number and Algebra, Measurement and Geometry, and Statistics and Probability. Under Mathematics Version 2.0, teachers will report against the achievement standard as a whole, providing one, single, aggregated score for Mathematics. The 3 strands have also been separated into 6: Number, Algebra, Measurement, Space, Statistics, and Probability.
As the achievement standards reported on have changed, this semester, under the Mathematics 2.0 curriculum, student reports will only show achievement and not progress. For all reports after this, progress will be shown against the single achievement standard.
The VCAA made these changes to help teachers plan their teaching and learning programs in Mathematics, giving them more flexibility to support students to link ideas within Mathematics and with other curriculum areas.
For further information, refer to the Education Department’s policy on Reporting Student Achievement and Progress Foundation to 10.
Student Reports for Semester 1 2025 will be available to families via Compass on Friday 28 June. Look out for a notification, on that day, via Compass.
In the final week of this term, teachers will be holding Parent / Teacher or Parent / Teacher / Student conferences, online. An invitation to select a time to meet with your child’s teacher will be sent out, via Compass, in the next few weeks.
