Performing Arts

Grade 2

Students in Grade 2 have been looking at rhythmic patterns in the English Traditional song, ‘Bow Wow Wow.’

Students performed a dance then clapped, saying the fruit and vegetable beats to consolidate their knowledge of the song.

Using a new app, Seesaw students have typed in the names for each sound.

What a fabulous job!

Grade 3

The Grade 3 students followed the rhythmic pattern in the American folksong, ‘One, Two, Three’ by playing an action game.

Given beats, students moved the single sounds into a template on Seesaw.

In Grade 3, students have been looking at the various fruit and vegetable beats.

They enjoyed singing and playing both tuned and untuned instruments with the African song, ‘Che Che Koolay’

Students then used their knowledge of beats to complete a Beat Maths activity on Seesaw for musical note symbols.

So clever!

Grade 4

Students in Grade 4 have been learning about note names and values.

We looked at both American and English names for the notes then students filled out this form on Seesaw.

Great work Year 4’s.

Grade 5

Students in Grade 5 have been working on creating their own line note sentence to help them learn to read music.

Very creative!
