Mary Help of Christians Patroness of Australia

Prayer to Mary, Help of Christians

Dear Mary, Help of Christians,

You are the patroness of Australia and our loving mother.

We ask for your guidance and protection.

Help us to be kind, loving, and faithful.

Watch over our families, friends, and all the people of Australia.

May we always follow your example and trust in your care.

Amen.

Saturday 24th May is the feast of Mary Help of Christians – the patroness of Australia.

Mary, Help of Christians holds a special place in the hearts of Australians.

Her significance as the patroness of Australia dates back to 1844, when Australia became the first country to adopt her under this title.

The devotion to Mary, Help of Christians, began during a time when Australia had no Catholic priests and Mass was unavailable. The faithful relied heavily on the Rosary to sustain their faith.

This devotion was further strengthened by the efforts of Fr John Joseph Therry, who encouraged the recitation of the Rosary and intercession of Mary.

Grade Six camp

Grade Six children and teachers head off on Camp next week to ADANAC CYC, Yarra Junction.   We hope they have a great time.

Late to school

If your child is late to school, please just drop them into the office.

Our staff are more than happy to walk them to their class facilitating a smoother less distracting entry to the class.

Drop off out the front and hall

We remind all parents and grandparents that the Drop off zone out the front of school and at the hall, are areas where the adult must not leave their cars.

When this occurs it significantly disrupts the flow of pick up for all other families.

Have a great week
