Altona North Campus News

SRC Update
On Wednesday, 4th June, Altona North students are invited to participate in an out-of-uniform day.
To take part, please bring a gold coin donation. All funds raised will be donated to the RSPCA to support the care of Australian animals in need.
As the weather will be cold, please ensure students are dressed appropriately for the day
Altona North - Textiles
In year nine Textiles, students learn how to use commercial patterns. This involves, taking measurements, laying out patterns, cutting the fabric and using the sewing machine to construct a pair of boxer shorts for themselves. There are many new skills the students are required to learn and they are very proud when they finish their shorts.
Year 8 Wellbeing Program – Respect & Connect
As part of our ongoing commitment to student wellbeing, our Year 8 students will be participating in a 4-week program titled ‘Respect & Connect’, delivered by Relationships Australia (see attached information). This initiative is an ongoing part of our wellbeing curriculum, and it aims to help students develop healthy relationships, emotional resilience and mental wellbeing.
For more information, please see Compass.
Lunchtime Clubs and Homework Club Reminder
Homework Club runs every Wednesday and Thursday after school. This is a voluntary program where students are supported by teachers as they work on their homework, revise classwork, or get help with learning tasks.
Homework Club provides a quiet, structured space for students to stay on top of their studies and build positive academic habits—with guidance from our teaching staff.
Primary Lunch Time Clubs below. A few clubs have specific year level restrictions.
- Journalism Club – open to Grades 4–6
- Maths Club – open to Grades 4–9
The J Club, Art Club and Garden clubs are open to all students, across both primary and secondary year levels.
The clubs/activities in the first top row of the poster are all in the primary building.
This poster will also be displayed in all primary classrooms, so students can refer to it and get involved.
Encourage your child to try something new—they might just find a new passion or hobby!
