What's Happening in Performing Arts?
Hello, my name is Paula Di Ciocco, I am the Performing Arts and Italian teacher at Mackellar Primary School.
Term two has been a wonderful opportunity to explore performing arts in an energetic, exciting and encouraging environment to learn various styles of music, culture and drama performances. Many students have received Buzz award certificates at assembly for their outstanding creativity and performances.
The Grade Preps have been learning about L’acroboleno – The Rainbow song both in English and Italian. We also had the opportunity to explore feelings and emotions in drama and acting, performing with costumes.
Grade 1/2 – Students enjoyed learning the song, We are one but we are many, by the Seekers and the Journey across Country and dream of all the animals, Marringa Lullaby from ABC Kids. We have continued to explore drama plays and performed in front of the class in small groups.
Grade 3 / 4 – This term we have been learning about Resilience and singing the song with beautiful harmonies, Touch the Sky. We have continued to explore the Carnevale comedy drama play performances wearing costumes and Carnevale masks.
Grade 5 /6 – We have been leaning about music and song writing compositions. We have continued to explore the Carnevale comedy drama play performances wearing costumes and Carnevale masks.
Looking forward to many more performances in the future.
Ciao for now,
Miss Paula Di Ciocco
