Appointment of 2025 Co-curricular Captains

At our recent College assemblies, the Co-curricular Captains for the upcoming Winter season were announced. These individuals have not only showcased remarkable prowess in their respective co-curricular activities but have also demonstrated outstanding leadership qualities in all facets of College life.

Captain of Chess - Daniel Ho

Daniel is a strategic thinker and passionate competitor. He leads by example both on and off the board. Known for his calmness under pressure, he inspires his team to continually improve and play with purpose.

His leadership has helped elevate the chess culture at the College, fostering a spirit of focus, resilience, and camaraderie.

Captain of Football - Alessandro Piccin

Alessandro demonstrated great on-field leadership during his first season with the First XI in 2024. His footballing ability, coupled with his determination to be his best and elevate his teammates was quickly recognised not only by the coaches but also the senior members of the squad. At the conclusion of the 2024 season Alex suffered a serious medical illness which almost ended his Football career, however determined to push through this set-back he worked hard, recovered and was back in time for the start of the season.

His passion for the game, the respect of his peers and his leadership on and off the field make him a clear choice as Captain for the 2025 ISA Football season.

Captain of Rugby - Joshua Malone

Joshua has been a dedicated member of the First XV Rugby Team since 2023. Throughout his time in the Black Jersey, he has played various positions, always prioritising the team's needs above his own. As the Touring Captain of the Development Squad during the College's Japan Tour in 2023, he showcased his immense knowledge of the game and his leadership qualities. Over the past two years in the First XV, he has consistently led by example in numerous ways.

An outstanding young man and student leader within the College, he is highly respected by his peers. He has made significant contributions to the College Rugby Program, demonstrating commitment, sportsmanship, and a 'team-first' attitude that have left a lasting impact on both his teammates and the overall Rugby community.

Captain of Tennis - Lucas Martin

Lucas has been a valued and dedicated member of the St Patrick’s College Tennis Fraternity throughout his time at school. His commitment, leadership, and sportsmanship have consistently set the standard for others to follow.

Since Year 9, Lucas has represented the College at the highest level as a member of the First IV Tennis Team, a remarkable achievement and a rare distinction. He has also proudly worn the ISA colours as a representative player, showcasing not only his exceptional skill but also his integrity and composure on court.

Lucas is highly respected by his teammates and coaches alike for his quiet determination, humility, and strong sense of team spirit. Whether leading from the front or supporting others behind the scenes, he has always embodied the values of discipline, resilience, and commitment.

Captain of Debating – Dominic Short

Dominic is a refined orator who engages his audience with skill and conviction. He explains and supports his arguments with original ideas and informed opinions.

Dominic is a gentleman in all interactions with peers, staff members, opponents, and adjudicators. He gives both feedback and encouragement to his teammates and is gracious in both victory and defeat. He represents the College to a high standard and is someone that our younger students look up to.

Congratulations to all of these fine young men and we look forward to seeing your leadership flourish over your respective seasons.
