In Maths, we’ve been exploring teen numbers and discovering the many different ways we can make them. Using Unifix blocks has helped us visualise these numbers in a hands-on and engaging way. In our non-number work, we’ve been identifying and creating patterns and investigating different shapes.
Our young authors have been hard at work creating their very own decodable readers! This week, we wrote the next part of our stories and illustrated them beautifully. It's been wonderful to see the creativity and confidence growing in our writers.
Reading time has been full of excitement as we continue learning our letters and searching for them in short passages. We've also been hunting for ‘golden words’, which are helping our 'Finceburras' (Finches + Kookaburras) become more confident and fluent readers. Keep practising at home – it’s making a real difference!
Our Inquiry focus has been on stories from different cultures and how they carry important messages and traditions. This week, we read and sequenced the Dreamtime story Tiddalick the Frog and learnt about the Traditional Owners of the land we live on.
We’re very excited about the upcoming swimming program! Please remember to make payment before the due date. Swimming is part of the school curriculum and it’s highly recommended that all students attend.
