Grade Five / Six

Class Information

We hope everyone enjoyed a wonderful Mother’s Day on Sunday. How stunning were the children’s self-portraits that were gifted to the Mums? Mrs Sefton is an incredible Art teacher. We continue to embark on a busy time within the 5,6 unit. Don’t hesitate to get in touch with the teachers if you have any questions.

CROSS COUNTRY

This Thursday the 14th of May students will participate in our Cross Country. Students have been busy preparing for this event during Sport lessons. If your child is unable to participate, please email your classroom teacher to advise us of this. It commences at 12pm and we hope some of you can make it.

TRANSITION DAY VISITS (MARIST AND CMC)

We hope the children enjoyed their visits to CMC and Marist over the past couple of weeks. We received so many compliments about the students from both schools! Our children really are a special group.

WINTER UNIFORM

Just a reminder that we are now wearing full winter uniform. If you need any assistance with purchasing items of uniform please do get in touch with us.

PUPIL FREE DAY

Week Six- Tuesday 26th of May

Week Seven- Friday 5th June

Week Eight- Monday 8th June (King’s Birthday Public Holiday)

CRAZY SOCK DAY

On Thursday the 4th of June students are invited to wear their craziest pair of socks as part of our Winter Woolies Fundraiser with St Vincent de Paul. Students can either donate a gold coin or purchase a pair of socks to bring in as a donation. Thanks for your support!

HOMEWORK AND READING

This week we resume homework for the term. Students will have a Spelling and Maths homework sheet to complete. As with Term One, it is handed out on Monday and the expectation is that they will complete and hand it in by Friday the same week. If your child has any reasons for not being able to complete their homework (we understand that life is busy) please don’t hesitate to let us know.

Reading is a nightly expectation as we continue to develop their love of reading for pleasure. Please remind them to read each evening, whether with yourselves or as a nice way to slow down at the end of the day before going to sleep.
