Class Information

We hope that all the Mum’s had a lovely Mother’s Day and that you enjoyed your beautiful presents from your child.  The students were very excited to make these special gifts for you and loved spending their money at the Mother’s Day stall.

PUPIL FREE DAY

There are a number of Pupil Free Days occurring this term, they are as follows 

Week Six- Tuesday 26th of May 

Week Seven- Friday 5th June 

Week Eight- Monday 8th June (King’s Birthday Public Holiday) 

HOME READING

It is important that you continue to read with your child each night. Students will change their readers daily with the classroom teacher through Literacy sessions. Students should now be taking home two readers each day; one familiar and one new. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your child’s classroom teacher. 

PUPIL OF THE WEEK

Each week, all Foundation classes will celebrate one student from each class who is their Pupil of the Week. Congratulations to the following students:

FSC – Yusuf & Pearl 

FAB – Eli & Kenzie 

CROSS COUNTRY

On Thursday 14th May,  we will have our whole school, Cross Country. The Preps will run at 11.40, followed by the rest of the school. Students can wear their house colours on the day of Cross Country. An email will be sent this week to parents telling you about your child’s house colour. Parents and families are more than welcome to along to support. An email will be sent this week.

STUDENT GOALS

Updated student goals and comments will be generated to families on Friday 22nd May at 3.30pm. Please hop online to have a look at your child’s progress so far this term.  

FOUNDATIONS LEARNING FOCUS

Literacy 

Students are learning about: 

  • The letters and sounds ‘d’ ‘e’ ‘h’ 
  • Reading and writing CVC words and sentences 
  • Identifying words and letters 
  • Reading and writing tricky words ‘I’, ‘the’, ‘my’, ‘a’, ‘is’ and ‘to’.  

     

Mathematics 

Students are learning about: 

  • Part-whole- Combining, partitioning, part-part-whole, properties of addition, separation
