Year 6 Badge Assembly

Our Year 6 students were presented with their leadership and House Captain badges at Tuesday’s Assembly.  They were also given a copy of the 1895 Rudyard Kipling quote’ The strength of the pack is the wolf, and the strength of the wolf is the pack.’  This quote depicts the importance of each member of the wolfpack, both individually, and collectively.  When each member gives respect to the pack, and the pack gives respect to each member, the group not only survives but also thrives.

We have a wonderful group of 20 Year 6 students, and with the guidance, leadership and support of Year 6 teacher Mrs. Joanna Bell, they will have a wonderful year as individuals and as a leadership team.

Star Students

The following students were awarded ‘Star Student’ Awards at this week’s Assembly.

Year 3 - George Robertson for his dedication and perseverance in his learning, always giving his best effort and also showing excellent sportsmanship during swimming.

Year 5 - Tommy Brown for showing great organisation in his classwork and use of his planner and for always making a conscious effort to be his ‘best self’.  Well done, Tommy!

Year 5 - Maelys Haynes for settling in so well into her new classroom, working really hard in all her learning tasks and showing great optimism in all areas of her learning.

House Swimming

Last Friday’s House Swimming was a wonderful celebration of sportsmanship and water confidence.  The nine-day Intensive Swimming program certainly provided our Prep to Year 6 swimmers with a solid foundation of aquatic skills.  Congratulations to Berry House on a comprehensive win.

Many thanks to Mrs. Patterson for her generous efforts in preparing and running the carnival.  Thanks to the Myrniong staff and the parent volunteers for their collective efforts throughout the day.  The staff relay team were victorious in the 4 x 50 metre relay event.  We look forward to a rematch at the House Athletics on Friday 8 March.

Frozen Jr Auditions

Miss Angela Kenna, Head of Drama

This week, Junior School families were emailed an Audition Information Pack for the Junior School production.

🎭 Auditions for our upcoming production, "Frozen Jr", are now open. Simply click on this link https://tha.ac/frozenjr to book your audition slot for either 18 or 19 March. The auditions will be in the Simons Auditorium at Senior School.

During auditions, each participant will have a five-minute solo audition followed by a group dance audition with four other students. This means that after every five solo auditions, the group dance audition will take place, so you may need to wait up to 25 minutes for your allocated dance time. Please allow 30 minutes for the entire audition process, this is the maximum time students will be required. Audition slots are limited, so please book your time as soon as possible. If all slots are filled, we'll open up additional audition times on 20 Wednesday after school.

What to bring to the audition:

Your completed audition form, along with any necessary accompaniment backing tracks or a preloaded song on your own portable speaker. If you prefer, you can also provide a YouTube link in the booking notes for the directorial team to play during the audition. The prescribed music, the songs from Frozen Jr and the vocal scale will be played by the directorial team.

If you have any questions or queries, feel free to email the director of "Frozen Jr" - Angela Kenna  akenna@hamiltoncollege.vic.edu.au

Get ready to let it go and embrace the magic of Frozen Jr!

Disney's "Frozen Jr" auditions will be held in Week 8 of Term One - Monday 18 and Tuesday 19 March, from 3.45 pm to 5.00 pm; students are required to return the white audition form on the last page of the pack to Mrs Povey in the Junior School reception.
