Music

- Mr Benjamin Hiscock

I love it when a Band comes together.

Excitement this week in The Kantor Family Music and Performing Arts Centre as a group of music teachers handed out instruments to the whole of Year Seven, as they commence their music journey in the Year 7 Music Instrumental Music Program.

The program gives students the opportunity to form a year level Concert Band consisting of a balance of Flutes, Clarinets, Saxophones, Trumpets, Trombones, Bass Guitars and Percussionists.  Term One will focus on making a controlled sound and operating as a homogeneous musical entity (the whole group making the right sound at the right time, regularly).  Term Two will see us work towards our first major performance at the Hamilton Eisteddfod.  Year 7s have the privilege of working with specialist instrumental music teachers.  Whilst a number of our music teachers are multi-instrumentalists for the Year 7 Instrumental Music program the section teachers are listed below.  Students will be given instructions about expectations regarding instrument care and how and what to practise as the weeks unfold.  Should you wish to communicate with instrumental music teachers, email is the best method.

 Musicale, Musicale, Musicale

It's audition time at both campuses as dedicated thespians prepare to sing, dance and act their way into the casts of this year’s musicals.  Next week Senior School students will audition for parts in High School Musical and in week 8 Myrniong students will get their chance to audition for the Junior School Musical, Frozen Jr.  Break a leg!
