VOCABULARY

Decimals:  one of the types of numbers, which has a whole number and the fractional part separated by a decimal point.

Compare: to look at the similarities or differences 

Place value: the numeric value a digit holds based on its position in a number

Justify: to show or prove you are right 

ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

Have your child compare and identify which decimal number is the biggest.

Have your child justify their answer by using a place value mat.

0.61 or 0.5 

1.21 or 2.5

1.4 or 1.12

0.06 or 0.4

*If your child would like to do more they can use a dice or online dice to roll numbers to create decimals and compare
