We are learning to write a paragraph using the TEEL structure 

VOCABULARY

TEEL: Topic sentence, explain, evidence, linking sentence: 

Topic sentence: A sentence that states the main idea of the paragraph

Explanation: Sentences that explain in detail information about the topic sentence

Evidence: Evidence from sources or examples to support the topic sentence 

Linking sentence: Links back to the topic sentence or links to the next paragraph. 

ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

Use the persuasive topic from previous weeks or brainstorm a new one. Have your child brainstorm 3 arguments for their opinion.

Encourage your child to write a paragraph for one (or all three) arguments following the TEEL structure.
