Grade 5/6 News
During RE, the students have been discussing the lives of refugees and living our Christian mission. I have been impressed by the discussion we have had in class time.
Over the last few weeks, the Gr 5 /6 have completed pre-assessment for Maths and English to find out where they are in their learning.
Last week, they enjoyed the Inform and Empower incursion, which covered topics such as managing their digital footprint, handling online posts that upset them, seeking support for concerns, using strong passwords, sharing passwords only with trusted adults, signing out or locking screens after use, and enabling two-factor verification.
We also had a visit from Police Officer Shane Roberts, from Echuca and Rob Morland from the Rushworth station where the students were able to ask them any questions they had about being a police officer. The students remembered to ask if it was true that Police like coffee and doughnuts and they confirmed this to be true - thanks Tannah.
In Maths, the students have enjoyed playing games, completing mental maths at the start of a lesson to get their brains warmed up and learning more about addition.
ART
Green & Yellow bottle caps
We are still collecting bottle caps, particularly YELLOW and GREEN bottle caps. We have run short to finish the bottle cap artwork from 2023! We would love to keep collecting these and hopefully create more artwork over the year.
Newspapers
If anyone has any spare newspaper laying around the house, we would gladly use them in the Art Room. They are great covers for tables when painting and are used in paper mache! These can can dropped off to the Art Room or given to Mrs. Jamieson. Thank you!
