Word study
Students have been learning new sounds by the day and are growing in confidence with their reading and writing skills as a result! So many of our students are listening to stories and practising their reading at home and this is really benefiting them in the classroom. Thank you for all your hard work developing a love of reading at home.
Who Sank the Boat?
In literacy, we explored the story of Who Sank the Boat? and put the animals in order from who climbed on first, to last. We couldn't believe it was the mouse who finally sank the boat, even though it was so tiny! Towards the end of this week, we will be learning to retell the story There's a Sea in my Bedroom, using actions to help us remember the events. Hopefully we will be able to share this so that you can practise at home!
Maths
Students practised their knowledge of ordering using the terms 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th to talk about our daily routines, thinking about how we get ready for school and how some jobs have to be done in a certain order.
A reminder that next week is our first full week at school for Prep Students, who will be attending school on Wednesdays from next week onwards.
