2024 House Captains

From Kimberly, Year 6 teacher

Let's Hear from our Captains

By Penelope, Yellow House Captain

Finding out I was house captain was confusing because I had been running for cultural leader, but I was still extremely proud and excited to get offered a leadership role. Being house captain means that I get to help make decisions about sports but to be honest I am not the most sporty person. I love bike riding, swimming and watching soccer. My soccer team is Melbourne Victoria and I love going to the games with my family. So far being house captain has been so much fun and I love doing my job.

Hi I’m Olivia and I am one of the three house captains. Marcos, Alex are also Red House Captains. When I first found out that I was house captain I felt really happy and proud. To become a house captain I had to write a speech and then read it out to the grade and then the year level voted on who they think should be house captain.

I found out about the house captain role in Year 2 and ever since then I wanted to be house captain. I love the role of being a house captain because I love sport and know I get to encourage kids to love it as much as me. I play centre in netball, Jui Juistu, gymnastics and soccer at school. I love sport and I hope that you have an amazing year with me as captain.

What it means to me to be a house captain.

When I found out that I was a house captain, I felt so shocked at the amount of support and trust our cohort had presented me. When elected perhaps the expectation is that you will make changes. This hasn't happened yet. I hope that this year's leaders will make everyone feel like they can share their ideas and expert something exciting to happen no matter what age of even if you like sport.

When I grow up I want to be a soccer play for our country, just like a Matilda. To be able to achieve your goal you keep going no matter what. Just remember that if something stands between you and success - just move it!
