Harvest Festivals

Our calendars have ticked over, and the Autumn equinox has passed, but still we are awaiting the turning towards cooler mornings and eves. Despite the late arrival of cooler weather, the Cassia children have been busily preparing for our upcoming Harvest Festival. Seasonal Festivals are corner stone of our Early Childhood curriculum, offer a wonderful opportunity for community connections and also help to center little children in the ever-changing world around them.

Our Harvest Festival will focus on bread baking and butter making; good, traditional and hearty staples that require patience, persistence and strength to process and prepare. Through the experience of grinding wheat, churning butter and singing along to the Little Round Bun Morning Circle, children are beginning to learn that even the simplest of ingredients, prepared with love and strong kneading hands, can be made into a delicious feast. How empowering it is for the child to know the good work of their little hands can feed an entire community of loved ones.

Our festival will be held on Thursday 4th of April at 11am. Invitations will be sent home by the end of this week.
