SUSTAINABILITY NEWS

EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT

Come along to Assembly TOMORROW to hear from Sam, from Farmers’ Pick, how you can save up to 30% on your fruit and vegetable shopping, and even miss having to go to the shops! We are excited to announce that Trinity has partnered with Farmers’ Pick “Feed Our School” program! This means families and staff will be able to order weekly boxes of fruit and vegetables and pick up directly from the school, and even save 30%, compared to supermarket shopping! Please come to a presentation to be held at TOMORROW’S Assembly, to find out how you can be involved, start saving, and help us to raise money for our school. Thus is a great opportunity for us.

Year 3/4 VH worked with Ms Belinda in the garden this week. We learned some simple ways we can start to live more sustainably, by reducing food waste. Students were fascinated to get up close with worms, see their babies and eggs and learn how they eat our food scraps, turning them into nutrient rich soil! See next week’s newsletter for some great photos of our reflections.

Some lucky students had the thrilling surprise of discovering “Surprise potatoes” hiding in our garden! The potato plants had long died and students digging over the garden beds got a great surprise to find potatoes! We hope you enjoyed them for your dinners!

NUDE FOOD DAY - MONDAYS

We ask students to choose foods which create no rubbish to bring for lunch on this day. Some great ideas can be found at https://www.nudefoodday.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/HOW-TO-PACK-A-NUDE-FOOD-LUNCH.pdf
