Prayer
Almighty God, by the prayer and discipline of Lent
may we enter into the mystery of Christ’s sufferings,
and by following in his Way
come to share in his glory;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
Dear Families,
As we come to the end of week 5 let us reflect on all that we have achieved in such a short time. Our children have settled into new class groups, they have been challenged with new learning, developed new friendships and so much more. As parents and teachers we have helped them to manage all of these things and, as a school, we have welcomed our new families including those starting this primary school journey for the first time. Of course with the many successes there have been challenges as our children may have struggled with new knowledge and undertandings or in the many social situations they are placed in each day. There is a lot written about the importance of resilience, not just for our children but for each of us as we face the many obstacles that can occur from time to time. Put simply, resilience is the ability to cope when things go wrong. This is such an important skill for us to teach our children as it is a vital social skill that will enable them to function at their best, at home and at school. I have include HERE a resilience guide for parents and teachers which you may find helpful.
Preps Commence Full Time
From next week our Prep students will commence full time at Trinity. Thank you to all our prep families who have been bringing their children to school on Wednesdays throughout February for our one on one teacher and child sessions. These sessions provide our teachers with invaluable information about each child's learning, especially in the areas of Literacy and Numeracy. This enables our teachers to target their teaching and provide explicit instruction at each child's point of need.
St Vincent de Paul - (Vision & Mission Read HERE)
Last week we were visited by two representatives from the St Vincent de Paul Society who came out to meet with us to discuss how they could work with us to support any families we have in need. We know that from time to time, for one reason or another, families may find themselves in difficult situations financially which can make things challenging. Families who find themselves in situations such as this can reach out to St Vincent De Paul directly or can speak with me and I can make contact on their behalf. We would like to strengthen the partnership we have with St Vincent de Paul through our own Mini Vinnies Program and by connecting families in need with the services they are able to provide. If you would like to know more please do not hesitate to contact me by email or in person at school.
Second Hand Uniforms
Thank you to those parents who have made donations to our second hand uniform supply. We would still love to receive any pieces that are longer needed so that we can build up our supply. Christine is building a stock list of these items which we will make available in time for families to purchase.
