We are learning to count. We have been practising counting forward to 20, and connecting the numeral to the number they say aloud.
VOCABULARY
Counting forwards to 20: Counting in sequence from 0-20.
Numeral: The figure to represent numbers. For example, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10.
ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING
At home, have your child count out loud to 20, making sure they do not miss any numbers. They can count their toys or pieces of food.
You can also have your child count backwards from 20 to 0 and start to count from different starting points.
For example: start counting to 20 from the number 6. “6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16…”
