We are learning to record words using the initial sound. 

VOCABULARY

Initial sound: The first sound that is heard in a word.

ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

At home, ask your child to pick 5 items in the house and encourage them to have a go at writing the word, listening to the initial sound. 

They might even be able to listen for, and record the other sounds they hear in the word.
