Welcome back families to another fabulous year of music making at Strathfield South Public School. Our programs are getting stronger each year with many fabulous performance opportunities for our students including;

• School performances
• School workshops
• Combined Schools Orchestra Camp
• Symphonia Jubilate
• Festival of Instrumental Music at the Opera House (recorders and strings)
• State Recorder Camp

Our fabulous bands have started lessons already with the Senior Band sounding fabulous in their first rehearsal!

Strings, recorders and guitar ensembles are starting over the next two weeks!

We are also looking for a student or two to start learning the Double Bass for our string program. The Double Bass is one of the most in demand instruments in school orchestras, stage bands and concert bands. This instrument is also sort after by highschools as not many children play the double bass. 

The SSPS scholarship offers free instrument hire and lessons to families who wish to learn the Double Bass.
