In Our Classrooms
Student Leadership Academy
The Student Leadership Academy for Years 4-6 has been a rigorous and lengthy process that is still being finalised. We are thrilled to announce that there were a total of 116 applications for our inaugural Student Leadership Academy at Hazel Glen College. The quality of the applications received was overwhelming and outstanding. This is a testament to the passion and enthusiasm our students have for leadership. We recently conducted group interviews and are close to finalising the Student Leadership Academy for 2024.
Year 2 Curiosity
In Curiosity this term, the Year 2 students have been developing their understandings of places and people in their local community. They have taken part in discussions involving the important features of communities for themselves as individuals and for others. They have investigated the places they visit for different purposes and discovered ways in which our community has changed over time. Earlier in the term, the students went on a walk in the area surrounding the school to identify different features of our local environment and neighbourhood. This week the students were also lucky enough to have some parents come in to our classrooms to share what their roles are within the community. The students were very excited to welcome our parent guests and learn more about community roles such as Nurse, Dog Trainer, Cheer Instructor, Basketball Coach, Pilot and Police Officer. We would like to send out a big thank you to all of our wonderful parents who gave up their time to come in and share with our students and enhance their learning this term!
