Princes Hill Student Selected to Represent Victoria in National Ice Hockey Championships

Princes Hill Secondary College is proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of student Zen Darsana, who has been selected to represent Victoria at the Phillip Ginsberg National Championship, the Australian National Ice Hockey Championship for the Under 13 age group.

The prestigious tournament was held in Newcastle from 15 to 19 July, bringing together the best young ice hockey players from across Australia to compete for national honours.

Zen earned his place in the Victorian team through his exceptional performances, dedication to training, and outstanding sportsmanship throughout the current season and during the state selection trials. His selection is a testament to the hard work and commitment he has shown to the sport over many years.

Having played competitive ice hockey for the past four years, Zen has already built an impressive sporting resume. He has won multiple gold medals at both state and national tournaments and recently achieved international success when he travelled to Thailand and helped his team win a major tournament in the Pee Wee (Under 14) division, despite being only 12 years old.

Zen is currently preparing for the National Championships while continuing to excel in the Victorian State Winter League, where his team sits at the top of the ladder. Away from the ice rink, he is also an accomplished athlete who competes in both triathlon and badminton.

Zen has brought home a gold medal! This was the first time playing defence for him as he is typically a forward. With his outstanding effort, he ended up being the highest scoring defender for Victoria and one of the top in the country!

We congratulate Zen on this remarkable achievement and wishes him every success as he pursues his hockey career!
