YEAR 6
FROM THE CLASSROOM
We had a fantastic week this week in Year 6. Students made wonderings about their reading text, understood new vocabulary, summarised and formed questions.
In Writing, they planned and began writing detailed recounts with strong introductions.
In Maths, they explored probability further by looking at expected and relative frequency and independent and dependent variables.
During Inquiry, they learnt the process of how a bill becomes a law and in Wellbeing, they continued to discuss the changes that occur to their bodies during puberty. We look forward to seeing how the Year 6’s perform next week at Winter Gala Day and Athletics.
SUP PRESENTATIONS
This week our enthusiastic SUP leaders presented to parents and teachers of Ramlegh Park PS. Their presentations were self-created and were presented with independence showcasing engaging concepts. These presentations explained what the SUP program is and what it stands for. It incorporated explanations of student roles and advice surrounding bullying with homework even being handed out at the end. Well done to our SUP leaders, they should be very proud of themselves.

Next week we look forward to seeing our students participate and engage in Winter Gala Sports Day and Athletics day.
READING
- We are learning to apply our reading skills to our own text.
WRITING
- We are learning to use our plans to write a recount.
MATHS
- We are learning to use our probability knowledge to create a board game.
WELLBEING
- We are learning to demonstrate behaviours that positively influence relationships
- We are learning to recognise how language/labels can cause offence
- We are learning to compare respectful behaviours with bullying, racism and gender-based violence.
REMINDERS
Winter Gala and Athletics
Our Winter Gala and Athletics event is fast approaching, please ensure you log onto Compass and provide consent and pay for both events by today June 5th. Students have been training hard all year for these days, and we hope to see them all in attendance.
Uniform Reminder
We are still seeing students wearing black pants or shorts to school. A reminder that Ramlegh Park’s uniform is navy blue. With the weather getting colder in the mornings, we also remind families that while white or navy blue sleeves are fine, long black sleeves and hoodies are not to be worn under school uniforms.
Camp Information
As mentioned in last week's newsletter, our upcoming school camp at Woorabinda is fast approaching!
- 6AEF will attend camp on August 17th-19th
- 6BCDG will attend on the August 19th-21st
The Compass event is open. Please log in and pay the deposit to confirm your child’s place at camp. We are looking forward to an amazing camp experience with everyone!
