YEAR 5

FROM THE CLASSROOM

Year 5 has been busy again this week. Students have been working hard and aspiring to do their best in all areas of learning. We were also very lucky to welcome Anna Cripsey from the Victorian Institute of Sport to teach our students about the life of an athlete and about wind foiling!

In Inquiry, students continued researching inspiring Australians. They have been doing lots of research and are actively creating fact files on three notable Australians that they admire.

In Maths, students have been practising how to select an appropriate unit of measurement, estimating and measuring accurately.

In Reading, we progressed further into our class novel 'Once', exploring new vocabulary, identifying main ideas and analysing the characters we’ve come to know.

Respect has been a major focus across our learning communities this week. Students continue to find moments where their peers demonstrate the Ramlegh Park value of respect. Each day, they have been giving tokens to classmates who have shown this value in the classroom and in the yard, which is helping to build a culture where positive behaviour is noticed and celebrated.
