YEAR 3

FROM THE CLASSROOM

It has been a busy week in Year 3!

This week, students have continued to solidify their knowledge of 3D shapes. We have investigated making 3D shapes using Unifix blocks, paddle pop sticks and blu tac and using the maths resources.

In Reading, we have enjoyed reading about fun stories on food around the world with their matching recipes.

In Writing, we have begun to investigate the tools for narrative writing with a focus on dialogue. Students have loved sharing their short sentences that they have created with others!

Here are some examples:

“Without warning, the gem began glowing. Rosy looked amazed at the gem. “What will happen if I touch it?” She thought. - Dahlia in 3G

“Without warning, the vault began to shine. Kristle gasped, frozen in terror. “Should I get inside to be safe?” She thought. - Sanuki in 3G

“Please, I need this. My mum is homeless,” the wizard said as he cried and demanded.

- Jaxton in 3G

“This spell must work,” the wizard said, his voice demanding and angry. - Michelle in 3H

“Look at the glowing book!” Sam said, jumping back from the bookcase. - Marco in 3H

“Come here now,” the wizard commanded, his voice wise and old. - Dwij in 3H

Thank you for another fantastic week of learning!
