Principal's Message

Dear parents, students and families,

Welcome back to Term 3.

We have had changes with our classroom settings and I wish to thank staff and students for their support and flexibility with this. These things are never easy but what a change it will make to our school.

As part of the build we will hold fortninghtly meetings with the architects and builders and I am pleased to announce that everything is all on track at this stage nearly 3 weeks into the project. For those who have been on-site I am sure you have been as surprised as myself with how quickly demolition and site preparation has occurred.

On Friday we share our Feast Day with St Joachim's at Mass as we celebrate our patron Saint - Mary's Mother and Jesus' Grandmother. Our students will have the opportunity to have some fun activities that afternoon. Parents are welcome to attend but with over 500 students between the two schools it will be pretty packed. We also look forward to having our Bishop Tony Ireland lead the Mass. This will be one of his last official duties before crossing Bass Strait to become the Archbishop of Hobart. May God bless him as he moves into such an important role.

Next week our school interviews will be held on Wednesday 30th and Thursday 31st July.

"The interviews website is now open and parents can book for this event by going to the website and entering the event code w97ze, which takes them to step 1 to enter their details. The link is https://www.schoolinterviews.com.au/code/w97ze ". I will close the interview website off on Tuesday afternoon so please select your interview time before then if you intend on coming.

Next Friday our students receiving Confirmation will have a retreat day on the 1st August. They will then have the great honour, as part of the Year of Jubilee, to receive their Confirmation at St Patrick's Cathedral alongside their peers from St Joachim's and St Joseph's, Chelsea at 1pm on Saturday 2nd August.

Thanks again for a wonderful week.

God Bless

Rod Shaw
