From the Principal's Desk

Week 1

Welcome back to Term 3!  I hope everybody had a wonderful break and recharge.  This term is again a busy one with lots of great learning and fun to be had.

Assemblies this term will be held in odd weeks.  Please see the What's Happening in School Bytes and School News and Information for when your child's class is rostered.

Morning Drop Off Time

Please remember that morning drop off time is no earlier than 8:15am and students must stay seated in the quad until supervision is provided at 8:30am.

Change in Circumstances and Medications

Please remember to update the office if your child's circumstances have changed in any way, including contact details, address, medications or anything else that may affect your child. This is so we can ensure we are up to date and can provide the best care and support for your child.

DISCO and Parent Information session

This term we will be holding a school disco and parent workshop on Wednesday 6 August from 5:30pm-6:30pm.  Mrs Polson will hold a parent workshop at the same time in our Stage 1 rooms, to share how you can help your child at home with reading and vocabulary.

Peer Support

This term, we will be introducing Peer Support across our school run by our Stage 3 Peer leaders. The program involves senior students being trained as Peer Leaders, and leading small groups of younger students in weekly structured wellbeing sessions, empowering students with the skills and relationships to better navigate life’s ups and downs alongside a teacher.

Peer Support is supported by 50 years of practise and research and aligns beautifully with PAX and YCDI.

100 days of Kindergarten

This Friday all Kindergarten students will be celebrating 100 days of Kindergarten!

Celebrating 100 days helps students recognise and take pride in all that they have learned so far.

Kindergarten are all excited to be dressing up like oldies and they will be participating in a variety of activities across the day that centre around the number 100.

One-Off Excursion Payment Reminder

At Martin's Gully we have a one-off excursion payment for all students.  This payment covers all local Armidale extra-curricular trips such as Excursions, Visiting Performers, Sports and Creative Arts Events as well as Intensive Swimming Program and Gymnastics Program.

This reduces the need for parents to be paying small amounts every time something is on.

The one-off cost for Kindergarten to Year 2 students is $80.00, and for students in Years 3-6 it is $110.00, and remains the same as last year.

Please note, this payment does not cover overnight excursions or extra opportunities that may be offered to selected students.

If this payment is not made, you will have to pay for individual activities as they arise.

Payments (full or part) can be made through School Bytes.

Sporting News

Good luck to Nixon who is in Sydney participating at the State Cross Country today.

Enrolments for 2026

Enrolments for 2026 are open.  Please complete an online application or come into the office for a paper copy.  Notification of successful Kindergarten placement offers will go out at the end of Term 3 for all in zone, out of zone and sibling applications.

All students in zone will receive an offer.

Our PAX word of the fortnight is INTEGRITY.

  • Integrity is doing the right thing even when it’s hard or when no one is looking.
  • Integrity is abiding by the rules because you know that it’s the right thing to do.
  • Integrity is being honest, telling the truth at school, at home and in the community.

Have a lovely week!
