From the Principal

This week, our students started their swimming program. We have moved to a weekly session for 2025 rather than the week-long intensive lessons of previous years. The students seemed to enjoy the adventure of heading out of the school grounds to the pool, and they represented our school very well.

Please note, I have added a few more days in the "Upcoming Events and Important Dates" tab.

We are currently struggling to find Relief Teachers (as many schools are) when we have staff away, just so parents are aware, in the event that we cannot find a CRT teacher we will split the class into smaller groups and these students will work in another class for the day. This is the last resort and we always aim to cover all classes, but we do have this in place just in case. Please let me know if you wish to discuss this further.

What is Eucharist?

The first 2 minutes of this video provides more information about the Sacrament of Communion (The Eucharist).

Congratulations!!:

Congratulations to Lucy and Jake on completing the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time. We thank Father Cruz for helping run this additional session as these students prepare for the Sacrament of First Eucharist.

100 Days of Prep:

Mrs Piaser sent an email over the weekend advising families in her class that we will be celebrating our Prep 100 day dress up day on Friday, 8th of August. I am looking forward to seeing all of the wonderful dress up costumes. Just a note that it is a dress up day for the Prep/1 students only.

Father's Day Stall:

The date for the Father's Day stall has been set for Friday, 5th of September. More information will be shared closer to the day.

Book Week 2025 – “Book an Adventure”:

We are excited to celebrate Book Week 2025 with this year’s theme: “Book an Adventure”!

To mark the occasion, we have some special events planned:

  • Dress-Up Day and Parade – Friday, 22nd August from 9:00 am

Students are invited to come dressed as their favourite book character, author or illustrator. We look forward to seeing everyone’s creative costumes! Families are welcome to come along to the Parade and celebrate with us. More details will be shared closer to the date.

  • Oral Storytelling Incursion with Anna Manuel – Tuesday, 26th August

Students will enjoy an engaging storytelling session with professional oral storyteller, Anna Manuel.

In the lead-up to Book Week, our staff will be sharing some of the shortlisted books with students during the school day.

We’re looking forward to a fun and inspiring week celebrating the joy of reading!

PSG meetings - Term 3:

Due to the absence of key members of leadership in Term 3 including Mrs Donna Anderton and myself (Mr Mc), PSG meetings will not run in Term 3. All parents who attend PSG meetings each term should have received notice via email from Donna earlier this week. All parents are encouraged to attend our Parent Teacher Interviews which will be held in next week. The booking form for these interviews was also sent out via SchoolStream last week. Please be assured parents are always welcome to email classroom teachers to arrange formal meetings about their children.

Parent teacher Interviews:

Last week we sent home some information about how to book in for our upcoming Parent Teacher Interviews. These interviews are 10 minutes each and give parents a chance to discuss progress and check in with anything required for Semester 2. All families are asked to book in an interview time, including those families who would normally have PSG meetings.

Swimming Program:

Our swimming program started on Monday, 28th of July. Please see the below timetable for students. Please note our Prep / 1 students may be slightly later back to school (3:15pm) as their lesson does not finish until 2:45pm.
