PRINCIPALS' DAY 2025 & PARLIAMENTARY RECOGNITION || Today, we celebrate Principals' Day by recognising the outstanding leadership and dedication of our Principal, Stephen Bourbon, and our Assistant Principals, Deb Kirk, Sarah Keating and Acting Assistant Principal, Sean Leith. We also extend our sincerest gratitude to Peter Bartlett, who served as Acting Principal for Term 1 & 2 this year.
We are also honoured to have been acknowledged by Brad Rowsell, Member for Sandringham, in Parliament this week for our leadership team’s incredible contributions to Beaumaris Secondary College.
“Today I wish to acknowledge a number of school principals in the Sandringham district. Being a teacher is a wonderful, wonderful vocation – it is an opportunity to plant the seed of inquiry into the hearts and minds of young people – but the vocation of principal is something just a little bit more special. I want to sincerely thank Debby Chaves, the foundation principal at Beaumaris Secondary College for her work. She has been there since before day one, playing a pivotal role in the establishment of the school’s strong culture and reputation. I want to acknowledge the interim principal Peter Bartlett for his contribution as interim principal. Peter led the school through a particularly challenging time, including the recent tragic methanol poisoning in Laos. I want to wish Stephen Bourbon, the newly appointed principal at Beaumaris Secondary College, all the very best.”
Thank you all for your unwavering commitment to shaping young lives and making BSC an exceptional place to belong, believe and become. Your hard work makes a difference every day!

Students at Beaumaris also have access to a ‘Report Bullying’ form, available via the Star/Favourite icon on Compass. This allows students to confidentially report any bullying they witness or experience, helping us create a supportive community for everyone.
Throughout the week, we’ll continue important conversations about bullying prevention, reinforcing the importance of respect and kindness in our school community.
The following resources to help prevent and respond to bullying will be featured in this week's newsletter, so be sure to check it out!
