Teacher - Home Group
As part of the Home Group program, Year 8 students are visiting Oxygen Youth Space - Meri-Bek City Council's youth space in Coburg.
The main aim of these visits is for students to develop awareness of the facilities and services that Oxygen Youth Space provides, and to connect them with all the opportunities on offer.
Three Home Groups have already made the visit, and the students were very happy to realise just how accessible Oxygen is from the school – just a short train ride to Batman Railway Station and a few minutes walk! By the end of this term, all of the Year 8 groups will have had the chance to see what a great local resource this is for them.
Our students got to enjoy some fun activities with their friends, strengthening their connections with a broader range of of their peers.
This is what some of the students had to say:
Introducing them to a safe space which is open every weekday - where they can hang out with their friends and access fun activities - is a really worthwhile addition to the Home Group program.
