On Monday 11th August, we hosted another successful Tertiary Pathways Expo for our Year 11 and 12 students.
We welcomed 25 tertiary providers and support agencies to showcase the exciting opportunities that lie beyond high school life. Students had the chance to explore a wide range of options, from university degrees to vocational training and community support. The event was not only a great resource for our students but also drew in a visiting group from Sydney Road Community School, making it a fantastic collaborative effort.
The expo featured a diverse line-up of institutions. Major universities like Monash University, University of Melbourne, RMIT, and Swinburne University were present, all offering insights into their academic programs.
For those interested in specialised fields, institutions such as the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects, Carlton College of Sport, and William Angliss provided focused information. Additionally, vocational and training providers like Melbourne Polytechnic and AGA Apprenticeships highlighted hands-on learning pathways.
A key element of the expo was the inclusion of essential support agencies. Organisations like Services Australia, Merri-bek Youth, the Young Workers Centre, and YMCA were on hand to discuss everything from financial assistance and employment rights, to mental health and community services. This element ensured students left with a holistic view of the resources available to them as they transition into adulthood.
The feedback from students was overwhelmingly positive, with many feeling more confident and informed about their future decisions. A big thank you to all students who attended and the staff who assisted in running the expo.
