The Visual Art Extension Project continues to deliver great challenges and new experiences for our talented students.
Most recently, visiting artist, Liz Gridley, delivered a fabulously informative workshop focusing on oil painting.
For many of our budding artists, this was their very first time working with oil paints. Naturally, the workshop presented a number of challenges, but the students showed great perseverance and determination. Their willingness to experiment and push through difficulties resulted in some truly impressive artworks.
To make the experience more meaningful, Liz invited each student to bring along a personal ‘sentimental item’ to use as the subject of their painting. Using a monochromatic palette, they carefully explored ways to capture the likeness, character, and emotional value of these treasured objects.
