đ Book Week 2025 đ
This yearâs theme, âBook an Adventure,â invites students to dive into stories that spark the imagination, transport us to new worlds, and take us on unforgettable journeysâall from the pages of a book.
Weâre thrilled to announce that St Maryâs will be celebrating Book Week on Monday, August 18th, with a fun-filled day of reading, creativity and community spirit.
Â
Hereâs whatâs in store:
Morning Parade (8:45am):To kick off the day, students are invited to come dressed as their favourite book character. The whole school will take part in a Book Week Parade in the morning and families are warmly welcome to come along and join in the fun of the parade.
Book-Inspired Activities: Throughout the day, students will enjoy a variety of activities based on this yearâs Childrenâs Book Council of Australia (CBCA) shortlisted books. Every activity will celebrate the wonder and adventure of reading.
Celebrating NAIDOC Week at St Maryâs
National NAIDOC Week is a time for all Australians to come together to celebrate and recognise the rich history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Itâs a special opportunity to learn about First Nations cultures and reflect on the strength and resilience of the oldest continuous living cultures on Earth.
At St Maryâs, we are proud to be taking part in NAIDOC Week. Throughout the week, our students will engage in meaningful learning experiences and activities that honour the contributions and stories of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We look forward to celebrating this important week as a school community.
