Be Mindful of Fake Emails
We would like to remind our community to be cautious of fake emails currently circulating from Gmail and other non-official addresses.
For your security, please ensure any email you receive claiming to be from the school is sent from an official @eq.edu.au email address. Official school communications will only ever come via our recognised channels – either directly from an @eq.edu.au email or from our official school social media accounts.
If you are unsure about the legitimacy of an email, do not click any links or download attachments. Instead, contact the school office directly to confirm.
By remaining vigilant, we can help protect our community from scams and misinformation.
Subject Selections for 2026 Year 9 and Year 10
Subject selections for Year 9 and Year 10 in 2026 will be taking place this term between Weeks 7 and 10. Students will begin exploring the process and subject offerings during their care classes over the coming weeks.
A Subject Selection Guide will be provided to all families, outlining the available subjects, key information, and the steps for submitting preferences.
To support student decision-making, subject information will also be available in a student-friendly digital format through the student portal.
We encourage families to engage in conversations at home and reach out to the school with any questions about the selection process.
Year 9 Work Experience – Final Weeks to Secure a Placement
With only a few weeks to go until Year 9 Work Experience Week (15–19 September, Week 10), it is now crucial that students act quickly to secure their placements and return all required paperwork.
All Year 9 students have received their Work Experience packs during CARE class, and information has also been emailed to parents and caregivers. The final date to return completed forms to A Block Student Services is the end of Week 8 — no late forms can be accepted.
Students are responsible for organising their own placement. If they haven’t started yet, now is the time to act. Employers need notice, and the school requires time to process paperwork and confirm placements.
Work Experience is a valuable opportunity to gain real-world insight, explore career interests, and build confidence. Families are encouraged to have conversations at home and support students in following up leads or reaching out to contacts.
If your child is unsure where to begin or needs support, please encourage them to speak with their CARE teacher or contact the school as soon as possible.
