Annie – Year 7 Musical
On July 23rd, our year 7 dance class headed into Melbourne for their first performance excursion. Students were very excited to see Annie the Musical and to also get to pick their lunch at the Melbourne Central food court!
Students started their day at the Victorian State Library where they enjoyed looking at the big dome, stately windows and artwork. Students participated in pre-performance activities giving them a better understanding of the storyline of musical, the production elements, the characters and songs.
We then headed to the Princess Theatre where students enjoyed the performance. We were able to catch up with some of the performing arts students and teachers from Officer Secondary which was a nice addition to our day. Our highlights of the performance were Sandy the dog, seeing Greg the original yellow Wiggle play the role of President Franklin D. Roosevelt and the child performers.
Students are looking forward to their next performance excursion which will be Bangarra Dance Theatre at the Playhouse Theatre in September!
Grade 6 Auditions
A big congratulations to grade 6 students who came to audition on Tuesday, 5th of August. We love getting to witness the talent in our local area! Do you want to dance at school? Come and join the BCDA!
At Berwick College we offer dance from Year 7 right through to VCE. If you have experience in school productions, aerobics in primary school, cheer, calisthenics or recreational dance, come and join our Dance Academy. Our classes are catered for students from all skill levels and offer lots of opportunities for students to engage in performances, excursions, interstate and overseas travel.
If you are interested, please speak with Ms Quenette, Miss Occhietti, Ms Wotherspoon or Miss Kaur in the Performing Arts Centre!
