A thriving school community begins with genuine connection—and that’s exactly where the Parents & Friends Association (P&F) shines.
Have you considered getting involved or are you already involved? Read on for the many rewarding benefits!
When parents and caregivers feel seen, heard, and welcomed they become active partners in their children’s education. A dynamic P&F bridges the gap between home and school, bringing families closer to the core of learning. Through regular meetings and open communication, the P&F creates space for ideas to flourish, concerns to be addressed and school life to be shaped collectively.
Whether it’s school fairs, movie nights, silent discos or bake sales, the P&F is constantly creating moments that unite our school community and finding creative ways to raise money. These fundraising efforts go directly toward enhancing student opportunities—from updating library collections to supporting enrichment excursions and advancing classroom technology.
While all this sounds incredible, there’s even more! Studies consistently show that students whose parents are actively involved in the life of the school perform better—academically, socially and emotionally. When students see their parents engaged in the school community, they feel more supported and motivated. It reinforces the importance of education at home and helps foster resilience, positive behaviour and strong social skills.
And the benefits go beyond school years—parental involvement cultivates curiosity, confidence, and lifelong learning habits that students carry into the future.
A school is so much more than just a place to learn—it’s a thriving, supportive community AND if it is lucky enough to have a passionate Parents & Friends Association at its heart it will be a community that truly blossoms!
The next P & F Meeting will be held on Wednesday 6 August from 8:15am-9:15am
