Student Wellbeing

Bullying No Way Week is Australia's key bullying prevention initiative for schools. The national week of action unites schools and their communities across the country.  SMCM will explore the key theme for 2025 and explicitly teach what it means to speak up about bullying. Together, we can foster practical approaches to prevent bullying in Australian schools.

SMCM Bullying No way

The theme for 2025 is 'Be bold. Be kind. Speak up.'

It takes courage to spark change. Bullying is everyone's responsibility. It takes a community to be brave and address bullying behaviours, within and beyond school.

Students can be bold, kind, and take a stand to support others who are being bullied. While parents and teachers are there to support children and young people, they learn how to behave in a positive way.

In our community and in our school, we want a place where everyone can belong, a place that celebrates everyone, and where bullying is never accepted.

Puberty - Growing and Changing

SMCM is working with Cath McCallig to present a family program about

Puberty- Growing and Changing via zoom for our Year 5 students on Wednesday August 13 at 7pm..

The program will discuss the who, what, where, when, how, and why questions about managing puberty. Reproduction will not be addressed at this time.

Year 5 students and families are encouraged to register online before this date. The link has been shared via SeeSaw.

Carlton AFLW visit with Year 5 students

Today, we were fortunate to have members of the Carlton AFLW team come to SMCM and share their experiences as professional athletes. Our Year 5 students asked questions about training, match preparation, and how they manage performance stress. Following this, the students joined the girls for a kick of the footy.

SAVE THE DATE.....

A cyber safety and digital well-being evening for the parents and carers of SMCM students has been scheduled for September 10. Please put this date in your diary.
