VCE Study Hall - Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday

VCE students are encouraged to stay at school and study in their designated spaces until 5:00pm every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. This is a quiet, supervised environment ideal for completing schoolwork, revision, or exam preparation.

Ms Collis is available during Study Hall to support students with goal setting, revision strategies, and general study advice. Students are also encouraged to use this time to book sessions with subject teachers for extra help.

Study Hall helps students establish consistent routines, minimise distractions, and stay on top of their workload in the lead-up to SACs and exams. It supports the development of strong study habits, reduces procrastination, and provides a focused, purposeful space for learning.

All VCE students are urged to make the most of this opportunity—small, consistent efforts lead to long-term success.

What's happening in Year 10:

Year 10 Advisory

This week in Advisory, we had Michael share all about his Work Experience journey. He shared about the process of finding a placement, organising transport, and other tips for the Year 10's to consider.

Year 10 Humanities

We have started our new Geography unit exploring environmental change and management. To get students thinking from a geographical perspective, we began with a task to investigate the impacts of various human actions including farming and building development. The students were tasked with designing a range of building projects and considering the finite and renewable resources required to construct and maintain their projects. With limited resources available, the students had to compete and trade for the resources they required.

Year 10 Work Experience - Raffle Fundraiser

We're running a raffle to help raise funds for our Year 10 students to attend their Term 4 Work Experience program in Melbourne! All proceeds will go directly towards accommodation and meals for the students during their two-week stay.

VCE VM Café

On Tuesday, VCE VM Work-Related Skills (WRS) and Personal Development Skills (PDS) students successfully ran their first café event. Students were responsible for all aspects of the café, including preparing snacks, making coffee, handling transactions, setting up and packing down, and managing customer service. They also ran a kid's corner and organised activities in the stadium.

Thank you to everyone who came along and supported the students on the day. It was a valuable opportunity for them to apply their skills in a real-world setting.

Uni-Test: Are you interested at studying at Flinders University

If you're in Year 12 and looking for an alternative way to boost your chances of getting into Flinders University, consider sitting the uniTEST. It's a free test designed to assess your critical and quantitative reasoning skills and can be used alongside your ATAR to improve your chances of receiving an offer. Flinders will consider whichever score—ATAR or uniTEST—is higher when making their selection, giving you the best possible opportunity. If this sounds like something you'd be interested in, speak with Ms Collis as soon as possible to sign up and get started.

In 2024 over 1800 students took part in Flinders UniTEST. Participation led to offers in courses across the university, including popular courses such as Law, Engineering, Medical Science, Nutrition & Dietetics, Paramedicine, and Speech Pathology.
